New legal instrument of the EC

The European Commission has given Bulgaria further two months for the evaluation of the Recovery Plan. The institution commented that it is normal to have a dialogue between national authorities, but declined to give details of the remarks on the Plan. This week, the European Commission also presents a new legal instrument to counter economic coercion by third countries. The reason is that in recent years many Member States have been subject to economic blackmail due to Community political decisions. If adopted, the new legislation will allow the European Union to better defend itself on the world stage.
