The European Parliament has held a debate on violence against women – the occasion is today’s international day dedicated to the problem. MEPs once again called on countries that have not ratified the Istanbul Convention to do so – Bulgaria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Latvia and Lithuania. In January, Brussels will propose new measures to prevent and combat violence against women and domestic violence.
