Svetlana Tikhanovskaya with a critical speech to the EU

The European Parliament observed a minute’s silence in honour of the victims of the Struma motorway tragedy. The leader of the Belarusian opposition Svetlana Tikhanovskaya is taking part in the plenary session today. In an emotional speech, she criticized the EU’s actions towards the regime of President Alexander Lukashenko. According to Tikhanovskaya, they were hesitant and indecisive, and lobbyists prevented Brussels from imposing more and tougher sanctions on Belarus.
