The European Court of Justice has fined Poland

The European Commission remains open to talks with Warsaw following yesterday’s ruling by the European Court of Justice to fine Poland 1m euros a day for controversial judicial reform. This became clear from a statement by EU Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders. Analysts say the ruling is a test of whether Poland’s conservative government will continue to oppose the rule of European law.
