The European Commission remains open to talks with Warsaw following yesterday’s ruling by the European Court of Justice to fine Poland 1m euros a day for controversial judicial reform. This became clear from a statement by EU Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders. Analysts say the ruling is a test of whether Poland’s conservative government will continue to oppose the rule of European law.
