The minimum wage in Bulgaria is frozen – for how long? Brussels is preparing a directive on minimum incomes in the EU

95 million Europeans live in poverty. Does the minimum wage help or hinder, does the business stimulate it to hire more people or does it do the opposite? Euroleaders are looking for ways to establish the position and role of the minimum wage. The development of a directive on the minimum wage is being discussed – to link it possibly to 60% of the average wage. How will the directive work and what are the stumbling blocks?

Bulgaria is still at the bottom of the ranking of the lowest incomes in Europe, we continue to be far from the average minimum income of the continent.
