Bulgaria will become a digital hub. This promise was made when it became clear that a supercomputer would start working in “Sofia Tech Park”.
What actually happened? It was expected to be ready, assembled and operational in February this year. It is already March and the parts for the supercomputer have just arrived. We expect it to be assembled and ready in May. The European investment only for the construction of this technology amounts to EUR 4 million and further EUR 7.5 million will be provided from Bulgaria. Our country has been chosen as one of a total of eight locations in the EU, where there will be similar supercomputers that will be able to do billions of calculations in one minute.
The supercomputer has also caused a lot of controversy.
In the coverage, Nikolai Minkov tries to find an answer to the question when and how will the supercomputer work?
